Fairy Abigail

I had a lovely time in the fairy dell with this little cutie! It was Abigails first ‘real’ portrait shoot since being a babe in arms and she loved every second of it!

“Hello Sheryl, We got our pictures last week, but we’ve been so super busy I haven’t had the time to say thank you yet! They are amazing! I love the acrylic one especially and I’ve made sure that everyone has seen the rest of the pictures. Thank you so much for making Abi’s first photo shoot experience a fantastic one. She still talks about being a fairy and finding the little fairy in the lantern. She looks lovely in the pictures.”

I find, as a mum and as a photographer, that the best way to make children relaxed in my fairy studio set is to tell them the story of how ‘flash’ (the real fairy who lives inside the lantern) came to be working with me and all about the sort of tricks that my little model and I can pull to get her to light up when it’s time for the photos to be taken. Giving the children a little ‘mission’ helps too – Can they count how many times ‘Flash’ lights up? Can they help me to prove to the world that faires are real? Abigail was an absolute gem! A complete natural at playing fairies. We had great fun with the sparkly magic wand whilst I created some very special pictures for the family on a balmy saturday morning at the studio in Tintern.

The colours of the handmade fairy gown and crown made her look even more adorable and credible as a woodland fairy for her very special time in the fairy dell.

Thank you to her parents for making the trip over from Bristol – It is worth the trip over to my studio for something this fabulous, Tintern itself is a great place to visit with lots to see and do – Many make a day trip out of their visit to us and take in a walk along the riverbank and a nice lunch somewhere. Tintern Old Station just outside the village is a great place to kill a few hours with the kids.

Thank you Abigail for being so good for me! Please tell Mummy that your artwork is winging its way to you very shortly and I am sure your special pictures will be treasured for always. Sheryl x
